The Girl with Kaleidoscope Eyes
The Girl with Kaleidoscope Eyes is a thought provoking story about the life and times of an aspiring young singer/ songwriter. Set in the late 60’s/early 70’s, amidst the Vietnam War and the Rock and Roll Revolution, Lucy is filled with dreams and aspirations of fame. All-too-often she finds herself at odds with her father, who is relentlessly critical of her. It’s at this point that music sparks a revelation within Lucy, opening her eyes to the world and she sets forth on a journey that is destined to fulfill her dreams. Along the way, she comes head-to-head with life-long lessons that bring us all back to reality.
Too Fast, Too Young
Too Fast, Too Young followed the life of one aspiring journalist as she explored 1950s Hollywood in all of its beauty. However, she quickly discovered that behind the bright lights and glamour existed a world of loneliness and dysfunction.
Kaleidoscope Tales featured the works in progress from two unique dance companies: The Source Dance Company (Vancouver) and Abiding Lines Dance Company (Saskatoon).
Love & War
In England, 1939, we met three sisters—a painter, a musician, and a dancer— who decided to leave their home in search of love, fame and success. Before the girls could begin to settle into their new home in New York City, they were hit with devastating news. With the onset of World War II, everything changed for the young sisters and their family back home.
Behind the Flapper's Fringe
In 2014 the Abiding Lines Dance Company presented their first full length show entitled, Behind the Flapper’s Fringe. Along with 24 of Saskatchewan’s most talented dancers artistic director, Kara Dubyk, put together a show that takes you back to the roaring 20s. A time when music and dance fuelled the economy and the passion for life knew no limits. The company brought a sizzling love story to life and drew the audience in with an emotional storyline that left everyone on the edge of their seats.
